About Us
Somewhere in the forests of Oregon, in the fall of 2003, our founder, Sally J. Bell, was tasked with creating a diorama for her friend's wedding. The diorama was supposed to be of two mice dancing, but Sally had her own plan. Instead of having the mice dance, she made them gracefully stuck in a giant spider's web. The bride and groon loved it. That's when Sally realized her true passion was in creating unique dioramas for everyone to enjoy. She learned taxidermy, professional-painting, resin work, carpentry, and welding. In winter of 2004, Sally founded Jewel Dioramica. Jewel is Sally's middle name. In late 2009, she changed the business name to Club String, Thingamaling! becuase Jewel Dioramica had been copyrighted by CrazyArtist Studios. Sally's online courses on diorama and resin work have been taken by popular upcoming artists, Kase Elmer, Josephine Locke, and Miya McAnnon.
